[In-house Interview] Student Interns / Digital Twin Research Team

마스터 2023-03-06 Number of views 30,970

This is an interview with student interns of the Digital Twin Research Team of MuhanIT.

The student interns who participated in the interview joined a digital twin research team during last winter vacation.

We heard how you felt about taking your first step into society.

Q. Please introduce yourself.

-

Kim :

Hello, I'm Kim, a student intern at MuhanIT Digital Twin Research Team!

I am majoring in spatial information engineering at Seoul Metropolitan University and am planning to enter the third grade in 2023.

Thanks to the good opportunity, I am always working with a heart of learning.

Choi :

Hello! I'm Choi, an intern at Seoul National University who worked for the Digital Twin Team from January to the end of February 23

while attending the Department of Spatial Information Engineering in Seoul Metropolitan University.

Q. What kind of work did you learn?

-

Kim :

We learned how to process images using Computer Vision OpenCV.

You can modify or write C++ code to convert images geometrically, such as rotation, magnification, and reduction.

We have learned about image quality enhancement techniques and written code to execute reverse mapping, interpolation, etc.

I learned how to parse spatial data as well as photographic surveying fields such as camera lens and co-linear equation.

Finally, when you enter an image taken with a drone, you analyze the data, obtain only the necessary data, and obtain the ground point coordinates using the co-linear equation.

I created a program that produces orthogonal projection images and outputs them to geotiff files.

Choi :

The Digital Twin research team learned how to process images through OpenCV, a C++-based Computer Vision tool based on photogrammetry.

Parsing sequentially representing files in .txt format as string data, histogram equalization,

and I learned Gaussian mask filtering, image movement and rotation transformation and interpolation, image matching, and projection transformation, including all of these processes.

The base of live map, which makes 702 drone images of Seonghwan area into a map-type file that can be seen in QGIS, has learned about the technology.

Q. Is there anything you felt and would like to suggest about MuhanIT while you were an intern?

-

Kim :

The MuhanIT that I saw was a company with a free and bright atmosphere.

I felt that you always respected us for working as student interns, and I felt comfortable seeing the employees hanging out regardless of their position and department.

I was able to work like a cafe because there were many times when you played music quietly in the office.

Also, I felt that the employees were working really hard.

In my digital twin research team, you looked amazing because you did the entire process of GNSS surveying, programming, and image processing, from the beginning to the end.

As I saw other departments constantly writing proposals, preparing for presentations, and flying drones, I thought I should try.

Above all, even though you're busy at work, you always train us on our work content, give us feedback and help with the code.

Thank you to the researchers of the Digital Twin Research Team who have been with us for two months.

Everyone is so nice to me, so I can't think of anything in particular that I want to you. It was a satisfying internship!

Choi :

Before I joined MuhanIT, I could feel the realization that I was a frog in a well through MuhanIT.

When I took the class as an undergraduate, it was difficult to notice the relationship between each subject while learning each subject.

While I was an intern at MuhanIT, I could feel that everything I learned in my major, 'Space Information Engineering', was needed to work in MuhanIT.

The number of people who have accepted more student interns and experienced the field, excluding myself and other people in the field of spatial information,

I hope the company can grow a lot so that there can be more!
